Deposits

Deposits are non-refundable and will not be returned for any reason. They stay with Tia until the final sitting of any ongoing project. Deposits range from a minimum of $200 up to half the quoted price for larger projects.

Deposits come off the cost of your tattoo and are taken for the artist's protection. If you change your mind on a drawing or concept, a new deposit is required, so make sure your details are decided and communicated before you leave a deposit.

Cancellations & rescheduling

• Vancouver (residency): 5 days or less cancellation notice, no-shows or same-day cancellations forfeit the deposit.
• Travel (outside Vancouver): 7 days or less cancellation notice or no-shows forfeit the deposit.
• Appointments may be rescheduled up to two times. After that, a new deposit is required to rebook.

Late arrivals

• Arriving more than 20 minutes late may mean you're charged for Tia's time.
• Late arrivals over 20 minutes may result in cancellation and a forfeited deposit, especially if another client is booked after you.
• If you're running late, let Tia know as soon as possible. Arriving on time keeps the quality and schedule on track.

Payment

• Cash or e-transfer only.
• Payment is due immediately after the appointment.
• Rates may increase yearly. If you need to confirm the current rate, email before your appointment.

Quotes & drawings

• Quotes are estimates based on size, placement and detail. Every person's skin is different, so quotes are ballpark figures.
• Drawings and designs are not shown before your appointment.

Touch-ups & coverups

• One free touch-up if booked within 6 months of your appointment. After that, touch-ups are charged at Tia's current hourly rate.
• Most coverups need more than one session, since the old tattoo usually shows through a bit once healed. Because of this layering, touch-ups on coverups are charged in full.

Skin care & clothing

• Avoid tanning or burning your skin before your appointment. It can affect the tattoo and healing.
• Don't wear skin care products or tanning creams to your appointment. No need to shave beforehand.
• Plan to rest as much as possible the week after. Sweat, sun, heat, activity and standing for long periods all slow healing.
• Book when you have the most time afterwards to stay off your feet. Feet, knees, elbows and ditches are more sensitive and need extra rest days because of swelling.
• Tia does not tattoo necks, throats or palms. Please wear clothing that suits your tattoo placement.

Numbing creams

Ask in advance if you'd like to use numbing. It depends on your skin, the placement and the project, and isn't approved for every tattoo.

Food & pain medication

• Bring food and drinks. Keeping your blood sugar up helps with pain, and there's a fridge for long sessions.
• If you're taking any pain medication, let Tia know when you arrive. It's usually about 30 minutes before tattooing starts, so you may want to wait until you get there.
